 The first time this book caught my eye was when I was visiting library. The name sounded very interesting and the next time I went to the library I decided to read the back cover of the book. I am glad I did since this book is now probably my favorite book ever or at least in top 3.

The setting is an alternate US where love has been declared a disease that makes you go crazy. At the age of 18 you go through a procedure called the Cure which makes you immune to love. They actually never explained what the procedure is like but all that I could think of was lobotomy.
So, Lena is about to turn eighteen and is counting the days till the procedure with excitement. That all changes when she meets Alex and starts catching feelings for him. Alex is from the Wilds which is a collective name for the wilderness and ruined towns located outside of the verified communities and their legal parameters.

Now, I can't tell much more about the book or it will just spoil it. However, after Lena catchs feelings for this boy, Alex, she is counting days till the procedure with fear. She doesn't want it anymore even though she can recognize that she has symptoms of Amor Deliria Nervosa and it also destroyed her mom.

Every chapter of the book starts with an excerpt. They are often from the book of Shh which describes the perils of Amor Deliria Nervosa. It contains rules, cautionary tales and religious anecdotes.

I loved this book and couldn't put it down once I got into it. It somehow reminded me of the Hunger Games and Divergent and I think that is a big reason for why I loved this book so much. So, if you like the Hunger Games and/or Divergent I can highly recommend this! Can't wait to read the second book :3
